The daughter of a journalist father and a mother who's a teacher, Kirshner began acting in grade school and made her professional debut in her early teens, accruing Canadian and American television credits before segueing into film.
While still in high school, giving "precocious teenager" a new meaning, Kirshner played a doom-divining dominatrix in Love and Human Remains for Arcand, one of Canada's most acclaimed filmmakers; in Egoyan's Exotica, during filming of which at age 17 she became CAA's youngest female client and for which she won a Genie nomination, Kirshner portrayed a schoolgirl-attired lap dancer.
Most recently, she plays Jenny on the hit Showtime series, The L Word. |
